Castlework are specialist contractors for a wide range of high performance flooring systems, the choice depending on the intended use.

For industrial premises, factories, warehouses etc, EPOXY RESIN SCREEDS can provide easy-clean, dust free and chemical resistant surfaces. They are also used for thin-section repairs and to reinforce areas of particularly heavy traffic. Thickness varies from 4 to 10 mm dependent upon the wear, abrasion and impact resistance required. A recent innovation has been the introduction of quartz aggregate into the resin to produce a wider and more pleasing colour range. For enhanced quality it is recommended that all epoxy screeds are sealed with either a clear or pigmented resin coating.

In computer rooms and high technology manufacturing areas where dust free, anti-static are essential, RESIN SELF-SMOOTHING TOPPINGS are widely used. Resin-rich they produce a smooth, glossy covering ranging in thickness from 2 to 5 mm over the original substrate.

Wherever thin-section cementitious toppings are wanted - e.g. to make good small discrepancies in warehouse flooring, for fire-damage repairs, or patching where the substrate is breaking down due to wear and tear - POLYMER MODIFIED SCREEDS are the order of the day. They may also be used for roadway and pavement repairs. Thickness varies from 10  mm to a maximum of 35 mm. Scabblers, rotary flails or vac-blast methods are normally to prepare the substrate for keying the polymer/cement slurry.

For sealing existing concrete substrates to prevent dust formation or to provide a decorative finish RESIN COATINGS only 80 to 500 microns in thickness may be applied. More than one colour may be used to outline safety walkways etc. and fine granules may be incorporated to produce an anti slip finish if desired.

Other systems are available to provide ANTI-SKID surfaces for car parks, garages, roadway intersections etc., i.e. wherever oil spillage is likely to create a hazard.
