Castlework provide a complete repair and refurbishment service for all types of concrete structure. This service covers every aspect from the initial survey, aimed at estimating the extent if the deterioration , right through to the final application of a protective coating to cover the new repair.

When all areas of latent damage have been clearly located by the experts, Castlework's team of trained specialists get to work cutting away the damaged concrete right down to the reinforcing steel.

The steelwork is then blast cleaned to remove all traces of corrosion and painted with two coats of epoxy resin primer - the second coat incorporating quartz sand to ensure a key for the new concrete. A bonding bridge of cement slurry is applied and the repair is then filled with a polymer-modified concrete mix carefully formulated to match the existing material in strength, fire-resistance etc.

Finally, to complete the repair and ensure a smooth, lasting finish, a skim coat of anti-carbonation render is recommended.

EXTERNAL DECORATION
On newly completed concrete structures, or after extensive concrete repairs, a range of specialised masonry paints and decorative finishes may be applied. These range from standard copolymer products to sophisticated elastic systems.

Castlework also offer various anti-CO2 Silane and Silane-Siloxane coatings which, by penetrating and filling the pores in the concrete, act as a waterproof barrier and provide protection against the de-icing salts and atmospheric pollution.
